In
1998 Ceresa won the contract to provide energy services for all
municipal buildings in the City of Caluso for 9 years. The contract
includes technological and normative requalification of heating
plants, systems maintenance and operation, and fuel supply.
The contract (which was especially innovative for that time) entails
computation of heat supplied and payment based on the contract price
of MWh (Megawatt hours) furnished to the city administration.
An important part of the project was requalification of all technological
installations in the city. Using state-of-the-art technologies,
Ceresa installed condensation and low running
temperature generators powered by liquid and gas fuels.
In one of the complexes involved in the project, the Istituto Ubertini,
a system of remote-controlled heating and hot water distribution
was installed among the various buildings, replacing and regrouping
the four pre-existing heating plants, and providing 1.675 MW.
The project includes:
the municipal swimming pool (where a pre-existing solar panel
system to supply hot water was renovated);
the main sports palace;
the two municipal sports centres;
the municipal offices;
the elementary, middle and secondary schools, with boarding
school annex.
The heating plants installed furnish a total power of 3.55 MW.
